Latto Claps Back At Critics For ‘P—-‘ Single That Addresses Roe V. Wade
Latto recently teased her upcoming single titled “P—-” which addresses The U.S. Supreme Court’s decision in overturning Roe v. Wade.
In the teaser for the new single, shots of abortion rights protests are shown since the overturing of the ruling then it switches over to the new offering’s artwork cover which features an animated version of a woman’s body with her legs spread open in front of what seemingly resembles the U.S. Supreme Court in the background.
In the clip Latto raps, “How you ain’t got a p—-, but got opinions on p—- / That’s p—- / My ovaries ain’t for you to bully.”
The rapper’s new song has gotten some backlash from fans saying that the Georgia emcee is using the political movement for clout.
One user tweeted at her, “using serious issues to promote your song is wild…” She then respond, “I took my frustrations to the booth like a RAPPER & [I’m] using my platform to spread awareness.”
She then I literally spoke on it briefly in my BET acceptance speech but go awf 😉 https://t.co/1iTEHbmiJ4
Another user came for the rapper accusing her of using Roe v. Wade for “profit,” Latto replied, “I actually am donating proceeds.. Yall be the same ones saying ‘why u gotta post everything’ if I do & assume I’m not doing it if I don’t post it lol however I AM using my power (platform) to make a change regardless shut yo fake woke a– up what are YOU doing???”
“Y’all complain about female rap lacking substance but then say I’m ‘capitalizing’ when I speak on s— [emojis] help me understand???,” the Georgia native later tweeted.
