Movie theaters across the country will be offering movie tickets for just three dollars this weekend. It’s  part of a newly launched “National Cinema Day” promotion, aimed at attracting moviegoers during a quiet holiday weekend at the box office.

The Cinema Foundation, a non-profit arm of the National Association of Theater Owners, announced that September 3, 2022, will be a nationwide discount day in more than 3,000 theaters and on more than 30,000 screens. Major chains, including AMC and Regal Cinemas, are participating. All major film studios are participating as well. In participating theaters, tickets will be no more than $3 for every showing, in every format.

“After this summer’s record-breaking return to cinemas, we wanted to do something to celebrate moviegoing,” said Cinema Foundation president Jackie Brenneman. “We’re doing it by offering a ‘thank you’ to the moviegoers that made this summer happen, and by offering an extra enticement for those who haven’t made it back yet.”

For more details go to National Cinema Day, and look for more announcements on Twitter at #NationalCinemaDay and your local movie theater’s website.

Why is it taking place this weekend? Because Labor Day weekend is traditionally one of the slowest weekends in theaters, according to the Associated Press. To help boost movie theater tickets sales, before each showing, ticket buyers will be shown a sizzle reel of upcoming films. Participating studios include A24, Amazon Studios, Disney, Focus Features, Lionsgate, Neon, Paramount, Sony Pictures Classics, Sony, United Artists, Universal, and Warner Bros. We can assume that there will also be the usual amount of trailers. But if that sounds annoying, keep in mind the price of movie ticket. In most theaters in the country, movie tickets are more than $10 per person.

Some big-name movies in the theaters right now are Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt, Super Pets, starring Dwayne Johnson, Top Gun: Maverick starring Tom Cruise. Others include Minions: The Rise Of Gru starring  Steve Carell and Russell Brand, and Thor: Love and Thunder, starring Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson and Natalie Portman.

The Top 10 Food Trucks In Fort Myers and Cape Coral

I love food trucks, and quite often would prefer them to a sit down restaurant. So I’m going to do my best with this list. To start, I’m going to go with the rankings I find on Yelp. From there, there’s some personal opinion added. Since food trucks are now popping up in neighborhoods, a couple on this list have been spotted outside my front window. I cannot stress enough how amazing this is. Get with the people in your neighborhood and if you can guarantee a turnout, you can get a truck to show up where you live. A lot of the trucks have booked weekends but are cool with coming into a residential area for a Taco Tuesday. Give it a shot. It’s an amazing way to bond with your neighbors.

So lets take a look at the 10 (or more) best food trucks in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral area.
