Giving Dogs People Food May Actually be Good For Them
Pets everywhere get excited because giving dogs people food may actually be good for them!
According to USA TODAY, A new study found that giving your dogs table scraps can actually be good for them. But before you start chucking them all the leftovers from your fancy dinner party, there’s a catch. The scraps have to be non-processed. So, say goodbye to your beloved Hot Pockets and hello to wholesome meals made from scratch.
Researchers looked at the diets of over 8,500 young dogs and asked their owners about any health issues they had. They found that 20% of the dogs ended up with digestive problems. Things likes vomiting, diarrhea, and a lack of appetite. However, dogs that ate table scraps were 23% less likely to suffer from these problems. So, it looks like your dog might enjoy a home-cooked meal as much as you do.
People Food:
But it’s not just human food that can benefit your pup. Puppies that ate things like meat, fish, and eggs a few times a month were 22% less likely to experience digestive problems. The key here is to avoid processed food, be it for you or your furry friend.
However, it’s not all good news. The study also found that there is one thing that is even worse for your dog’s digestive system than dry food. Look out for rawhide chews. Dogs that were given rawhide chews as puppies were 117% more likely to end up with digestive issues. So, if you’re looking to give your dog a treat, maybe steer clear of rawhide and try for something a little more natural.
So, the next time you’re faced with a plate of unappetizing greens, just remember: your dog might thank you for it someday.
15 Fictional Pets You Wish Were Your Own
Real pets, fictional pets, we love them all. Most humans tend to love animals. There’s a reason dogs are called man’s best friend.
You can talk to your pet and they won’t talk back. They love you unconditionally and they show you. They make the cutest little faces that melt your heart.
When we lose a pet, it’s like losing a member of the family, well it is losing a member of the family. They become your children, siblings to your kids, they’re one of us.
When we came across this list of fictional pets, we had to share. Ranker recently put a list together of some of the cutest fictional pets on the big screen and television over the last several decades, that you wish were your own.
There are far too many to share here, so you can see all of the adorably famous pups and pets here. I went ahead and chose the top 15 based off of my discussion with my co worker Joe.
We were both surprisingly passionate about these on screen animals. I got especially pulled in seeing Shadow from Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey. My kids refuse to watch movies that aren’t in HD, so I forget about some of my own childhood favorites.
Clearly from my list, you’ll see I prefer dogs. I did rank these in order of my personal favorites. Tell us yours in the comments.
