Drake Sticks Up For His Pink Nails: ‘The World Is Being Homophobic’
Drake is defending his painted, manicured nails. On Saturday (July 8), the Honestly, Nevermind rapper posted a photo dump on Instagram which included him showing off his fresh set of pink nails.
“I don’t mind that we don’t talk. Rather be in your thoughts. Rather be on top of your list of ‘what ifs’ and not your list of ‘and what nots,'” Drake captioned the post.
“Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear,” Lil Yachty responded to the post referencing Drake’s large diamond earrings.
“GET OUT MY COMMENTS YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE RICH FLEX…which wasn’t that long ago now that I think about it,” Drake wrote. “Wait is the world homophobic? Smh.”
Yachty responded: “woo-sah brother, [you’re] not supposed to have these episodes in public, it’s fine. They just don’t get u bro #UDIFFERENTAF.”

Drake’s comment “THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE 1st TIME SINCE RICH FLEX,” references when fans made videos and memes responding to the rapper’s line “21, can you do somethin’ for me?” in his song “Rich Flex” with 21 Savage. Fans suggested that Drake was being “flirty” with 21 in that line. The song is off of their collaborative project, Her Loss which was released in November.
Drake and 21 began their It’s All A Blur Tour in Chicago on July 5. The tour is set to hit several large cities in North America including New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, and more. Drake will also be heading to his home of Toronto, Canada before his final tour stop in Columbus, Ohio on October 9.
Drake has already teased that his new album For All The Dogs will be released soon. It will also have a feature by Young Money collaborator Nicki Minaj. A release date For All The Dogs has yet to be announced. Take a look at the moment here.
