Florida Man Pulls Gun On Bicyclist In Naples
On Tuesday, a Naples, Florida resident contacted the Naples Police Department to report a road rage incident involving a firearm as a suspect allegedly pulls gun on bicyclist. The victim was riding their bicycle in the 2400 block of Gordon Drive, near the Port Royal neighborhood of Naples. That’s where the bicyclist became involved in an argument with the driver of a landscape vehicle. The driver of the landscape vehicle escalated the argument by pointing a gun at the victim before fleeing the area.
Detectives utilized electronic investigative tools to locate the suspect’s vehicle. Naples
Police Officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and identified the suspect as Robert
Francis Stoico Jr., a 55-year-old resident of unincorporated Collier County. Naples Police
Officers recovered a loaded Glock 19, 9mm handgun.
Based on the victim’s account and subsequent investigation, which corroborated the events,
Robert Francis Stoico Jr. was placed under arrest for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly
Weapon and transported to the CCSO Jail without incident.
Landscaper Pulls Gun On Bicyclist
Let’s cut to the facts here. The area of this incident is one of the richest areas in the country, between Port Royal and Aqualane Shores of Naples. The median home price in that area is in the 20 million range. Gordon Drive also has a very large and very clear bike path along the road, so I’m wondering what transpired here. Entitled resident arguing with someone just doing their job (which happens a lot down there)? Or maybe landscape truck driving in the bike lane? Regardless, when someone pulls gun on bicyclist, it’s not good judgement.
And why was Stoico carrying a loaded Glock 19 in that neighborhood? What are you protecting yourself from? Squirrels?
