“Rolling Stone” has ranked the 100 best TV theme songs of all time.

We all know that one person who loves to start arguments for the sake of it. You know, the person who brings up topics like “Which is better–cats or dogs?” or “Does pineapple belong on pizza?” in an attempt to get a rise out of people. Well, today, the argument might be “What’s the best TV theme song of all time?” I’m sure there’s a few on this list we all can agree on. I’m just the messenger.

Let’s face it, we all love a good TV theme song. It sets the tone for the show, gets us pumped up for what’s to come, and sometimes even gets stuck in our heads for days on end. But with so many great shows out there, which ones have the best?

To compile this list, “Rolling Stone” put together a list of great songs from over the course of TV history. Then, they considered how great the song is and how well that song prepares you for the show that follows.
