I love to travel, but one vacation I haven’t done yet is a cruise, but I think 2024 will be my year as Royal Caribbean announces a new ship “Icon of the Seas”.
Royal Caribbean International says “Icon of the Seas” will be ready to set sail in late 2023 and says this ship will be a “first-of-its-kind combination of the best of every vacation.”
If the current cruise ship offerings aren’t enough for you, then you’re in for a treat. By the sounds of it, to enjoy the full experience of “Icon of the Seas” you’ll need at least a week at sea, maybe more.
There will be 8 “neighborhoods” on the ship giving you the opportunity to explore and be entertained both day and night: Thrill Island, Chill Island, Surfside, The Hideaway, AquaDome, Royal Promenade, Suite Neighborhood and Central Park.
Thrill Island will be the largest water park at sea featuring six water slides and ropes course/thrill ride that will have daredevils swinging over 150 above the ocean. Chill Island will feature four of the seven pools on the ship with the cruise line’s first swim-up bar. Surfside is more family friendly with kids activities and a teen social club.
You’ll have a lot of options with this ship too. It’ll sail year-round on seven-night eastern and western Caribbean cruises from Miami with stops in Perfect Day in CoCoCay, The Bahamas, Cozumel, St. Maarten and Roatan.
Trips will begin booking starting October 25. For more info, click here
