One of Twitter’s latest hot takes is whether or not the late comedian Bernie Mac was actually funny. Bernie died in 2008 but he has definitely made a lasting impression in the culture. He was mainly known as the star of The Bernie Mac Show which ran from 2001-2006 on Fox. Besides having a hit sitcom, the comedian got his big break as Pastor Clever in the 1995 film Friday which starred Ice Cube and Chris Tucker, and also starred in several other films including Halle Berry’s B.A.P.S., The Player’s Club, many more. Bernie was a legend in the comedy world but this new viral tweet is questioning his impact.

The tweet read, “Show me proof Bernie Mac was actually funny. Pls. Cause y’all dragging it.”
