Florida Man Points Flamethrower At Police – Gets Tased
It looks like the string of hurricanes plowing through Florida has sent this Florida Man over the edge. A man in Port St. Lucie, Florida was blowing up things with a flamethrower in his neighborhood, when someone called the cops. Obviously.
Last night, Port St. Lucie officers responded to the 200 block of SW Kimball Circle for reports of an explosion followed by smoke in the neighborhood. 😧
Upon arrival, officers were confronted in the roadway by 39-year-old Florida Man Joseph Moreton, who was armed with a handheld flamethrower. Officers ordered Moreton at gunpoint to drop the flamethrower as he approached them, but he refused and pointed the flamethrower at an officer. Showing great restraint, that officer was able to grab the flamethrower from Moreton, who then retreated back into his home.
The Flamethrower
Police Officers surrounded the home and ordered Moreton to come out. A short while later, Morton appeared at his front door and tried to blind officers with a flashlight. It didn’t work. At that point, several officers decided to end the confrontation and deployed their Tasers, taking Moreton into custody without further incident.
Once Moreton was medically cleared, he was transported to the St. Lucie County Jail. He is currently being held on a $5,500.00 bond for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Law Enforcement Officer and Resisting an Officer without Violence.
How Is The Bond So Low?
Florida Man literally pointed some World War 2 looking instrument of destruction at the cops and his bond is $5,500? it really seems like this should be a more serious offense.
I can’t be 100% for certain, but that appears to be the Pulsefire LRT. $629.99 shipped. According to the company website “The patented Pulsefire is the ultimate compact, lightweight, fully handheld flamethrower that sends a blast of fire 25 feet away with the press of a button. Not legal in MD.”
Lol. Exactly one state, Maryland, decided this was probably not a good idea – selling flamethrowers on the internet. 🤣
