Some fans are thinking that Drake has been throwing some shade at fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

Drizzy surprisingly dropped his dance-music-heavy LP Honestly, Nevermind on what so happened to be the Compton rapper’s 35th birthday. Following the release, Drake posted a carousel of pictures to his Instagram with the caption, “How many more birthdays are you going to turn up before you grow up? You’re walking a fine line between being childish as fck and forever young.”

Fans are also analyzing “Jimmy Cooks” ft. 21 Savage on Honestly, Nevermind when 21 raps, “Big stepper, he came in a Rolls be he left in a stretcher.” “Big steeper” seemingly calls out Kendrick’s latest album Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers.

Kendrick’s pgLang label cofounder Dave Free added some fuel to the fire when he posted on Instagram Friday (June 17), “Petty a– n—- dropped on Dot birthday just to release the worst album of the year.” the post reads. Free followed it up with a tweet on Sunday (June 19) writing, “Narrative shaping is getting out of control. I respect the troll, but at the very least, make me look good if you fake post me.”

Kendrick nor Drake has publicly stated directly that there is beef between the two but fans have become detectives in finding out.
