The Sandman. Tom Sturridge as Dream in The Sandman. Cr.

The Sandman is an upcoming Netflix dark fantasy series based on the 1989–1996 comic book written by Neil Gaiman and published by DC Comics (but it doesn’t intersect much with the superhero world of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman). Tom Sturridge (Far from the Madding Crowd, Velvet Buzzsaw) stars as The Sandman, Master of Dreams, an immortal being who lords over a realm of dreams.

Sturridge’s Dream gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.

The Sandman also stars Kirby Howell-Baptiste (Cruella), Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Asim Chaudhry (People Just Do Nothing), Sanjeev Bhaskar (The Kumars at No. 42), Mason Alexander Park (Cowboy Bebop), and Donna Preston (Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald).
