Weekend Vibes, What’s Happening in Southwest Florida March 24-26. Sadly, for some, this is the last weekend for Baseball Spring Training in Southwest Florida. Our area is very unique in the fact that we have three teams in Lee and Charlotte Counties. In Fort Myers you can see the Boston Red Sox and the Minnesota Twins. In Port Charlotte it is the Tampa Bay Rays. March 30th is the opening day of the regular, major league baseball season. If you have not been to a game yet, time is ticking.

Baseball is not just for the major leaguers. The Edison and Ford Winter Estates is holding a vintage game in which teams play by rules of league from the 1860’s. They wear vintage uniforms and swing wooden bats,. They hit lemon-peel baseballs and don’t wear gloves. More details are below. And perhaps one of the biggest signs of hope following Hurricane Ian, Pine Island is going forward with it’s annual Island Fest and infamous mullet toss.

Speaking of Pine Island, there is still a lot of hurricane recovery under way all over Southwest Florida.  We understand things are still challenging for many many people. If you feel like getting out and about, we have a few ideas here. But then again, if you are not feeling so great mentally that is OK. We want to offer some resources that might help.  Click here to find a few.
